What is the most visible color...
Q: Rob:
What is the most visible color plastic worm for Bass in dark & muddy or algae bloom colored waters? The fire & ice seems to outperform everything I have ever tried, with crawdad a close second, but in real muddy or very dark waters production goes down!
Follow up:
What would you recommend? I have tried going to bigger worms which sometimes helps...but sometimes I need a smaller worm for our heavily pressured waters hear in Chicagoland.
A: Dustin:
In soupy or muddy water, worms are relatively thin and don't displace much water, so bass can't find them as easily. I would recommend a thicker, more compact bait and use rattles. I would suggest black and blue finesse jig with a black Tailgate Special trailer. This is a bulky bait and easier for the bass to find in the mud. Hit the thickest cover you can find in shallow water as bass like to be up against something in muddy water.
